Hester's Helpful Hints: RESUMES

Your name should appear at the center & top of your resume.Attach your resumes to the back of your headshots facing out. Acting resumes are one page. Information is well organized and easy to read. Your layout should be in columns with the title of the project left, the role you played center, and the production company or director's name if he or she is a known name, in the right hand column. Visit LIMELIGHT BOOKS on Market Street in San Francisco and check out the numerous books on resume preparation for performing artists. Image and marketing is everything. It is the business side of the show business that tells a casting director you know what you are doing and are ready to go to work.

When submitting to our headshot file, send 5 copies with a resume attached to each one so directors can take one with them.

We maintain a paper headshot file for directors to use for free.
