Surf around.  There’s a lot of information here to help you make a better movie.Press Secretary Scene

MAKE THE MOVIE:  A dear friend once said on-set, “Hey, do you want to make the movie or be sitting around in 20 years wishing you’d made the movie?”

“Hey, do you know anyone who could play this part?”

Yeah… actually, we probably do, and we’ll help you find them. Bay Area Casting started in 1993 as Bay Area Casting News, a “one-sheet” passed around to friends with a monthly list of the independent film projects the founding father knew about. It grew to an 8 page monthly newsletter print edition, distributed through bookstores in San Francisco. In 1996, the current CEO met the founding father on a movie set and thought, “this would be great for my students to know about.” The newsletter took a giant leap and the torched was passed to a master acting teacher with connections. BACN moved online in 1996 and is the longest running online service for actors and directors.

We believe in direct connections.
When directors have the know-how to DIY, do it yourself, all you need are connections and a way to get the information out to those looking to get into your independent project: Actors.   That’s where we come in.   So, send in your casting breakdowns, and let us help you get the word out.  It’s free.

When your ready for the big time, or have special needs and want the help and advice of a professional casting director, CONTACT US.  We work within your budget to get the best cast of actors you can afford.

“First and foremost, I would like to thank you for such a fun class. Truthfully, I’ve received more information about the industry from you (Hester Schell) in the 8 week session than over the last 5 years that I’ve been acting. I like the fact that you bring great acknowledge to the class and was able to share them with us without additional charges. THAT’S A BIG PLUS! I will definitely recommend

” I wouldn’t have had the confidence in my SAG feature audition without the extra push from you, Hester. I booked it! You give constructive criticism and honest support; and for that, I am grateful. I am now SAG eligible, and on my way in the right direction. Thank you!”

“I want to take a moment and thank you so much for your website…This weekend, thanks to audition info from BACN, I’m participating in a delightful film shoot directed by a very talented young SFSU student. The big surprise is that the other 2 actors are L.A. pros and friends of his family! I’m very lucky.. wouldn’t have known about it were it not for your website. ”
    Best wishes,
